About Shimla

The Iconic Christ Church at Ridge Maidan
The Ridge is the heart of Shimla city, a large open space that runs along the Mall Road from east to west. This spacious plateau is the hub of all cultural activities in Shimla and offers panoramic views of the snow-capped Himalayan ranges.
One of the most prominent structures on the Ridge is the neo-Gothic Christ Church with its stained glass windows, which was built in 1857. The area also houses the Tudor Library building and Gaiety Theatre, making it the primary cultural center of Shimla.
