About Jakhu Temple

Jakhu Temple is an ancient temple dedicated to Lord Hanuman, located at Jakhu Hill, the highest peak in Shimla. Standing at an elevation of 2,455 meters above sea level, the temple offers panoramic views of the Shivalik mountain range and the city of Shimla.

The temple is famous for its 108-feet-tall statue of Lord Hanuman, one of the tallest statues in the world. According to legend, Lord Hanuman stopped at this spot to rest while searching for the Sanjeevani herb to save Lord Lakshmana's life during the epic battle of Ramayana.
