About Chintpurni Temple

Chintpurni Temple is one of the most revered Shakti Peethas in North India, located in the Una district of Himachal Pradesh. The temple is dedicated to Mata Chintpurni Devi, also known as Mata Chinnamastika, who is believed to be the remover of all worries (the name "Chintpurni" literally means "the one who removes worries").

According to Hindu mythology, this is the place where the feet of Sati (Lord Shiva's consort) fell when Lord Vishnu cut her body into pieces. The temple attracts thousands of devotees every year, especially during Navratri festivals. The main shrine houses a pindi (stone) representing the goddess, and devotees believe that sincere prayers made here are always answered.
