About Bagalamukhi Temple

Bagalamukhi Temple, located in Bankhandi near Dehra in the Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh, is one of the most significant temples dedicated to Goddess Bagalamukhi, who is the eighth Mahavidya among the ten Mahavidyas in Hindu mythology. The temple is known for its spiritual significance and is believed to help devotees overcome enemies and obstacles.

The name "Bagalamukhi" comes from "Bagala" (meaning bridle) and "mukhi" (meaning face), symbolizing the goddess's power to control or paralyze her enemies. The deity is depicted in yellow attire, holding a club in her right hand with which she beats a demon, while pulling his tongue with her left hand. Devotees believe that worshipping here helps in winning court cases, defeating enemies, and removing speech defects.
